PSL 11 trophy unveiled as league enters a new era

KARACHI: The glittering trophy for the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 was unveiled on Wednesday at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, signaling the start of a new chapter for Pakistan’s premier Twenty20 tournament.

The ceremony was attended by PSL CEO Salman Naseer and representatives from all eight participating franchises. Handcrafted by 18 master artisans over 2,600 hours, the trophy’s design celebrates the PSL’s journey and growth over the past decade.

At its base, eight emerald-cut gemstones represent the eight PSL teams and the pride of their cities. The tall structure symbolizes discipline, determination, and teamwork, while the crescent and star atop signify unity, hope, and national pride. In total, the trophy is studded with over 1,600 gemstones, reflecting meticulous craftsmanship.

Speaking at the unveiling, Naseer said: “This is a historic occasion as we step into a new era after successfully completing 10 seasons. The league has grown stronger with new teams, record-breaking player auctions, landmark broadcast deals, and tremendous fan support nationwide and internationally.”

PSL 11 will feature eight teams and 44 matches across six venues — Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Multan, Peshawar, and Faisalabad. Peshawar and Faisalabad will host PSL matches for the first time.

The season kicks off on March 26 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, with defending champions Lahore Qalandars taking on Hyderabad Kingsmen, and concludes with the final on May 3 at the same venue.
