Third Pakistani killed by falling debris in UAE amid ongoing conflict

A third Pakistani national has died after being struck by “falling debris” following the interception of a ballistic missile in the United Arab Emirates, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the incident occurred in the Baniyas area of Abu Dhabi, where air defence systems intercepted an incoming missile. The debris from the interception resulted in the death of the Pakistani national.

The UAE Ministry of Defence stated that its air defence systems are actively responding to missile and drone threats originating from Iran. It added that the sounds heard across different parts of the country are due to ongoing interceptions of ballistic missiles and aerial threats, including drones and loitering munitions.

This marks the third such fatality involving a Pakistani citizen since the outbreak of the Iran-US-Israel war. Earlier, on March 8, a Pakistani driver was killed when debris from an aerial interception struck a vehicle in Dubai’s Al Barsha area.

In another incident on February 28, a Pakistani worker, Mureed Zaman, lost his life in Abu Dhabi after debris fell during missile interception on the first day of the conflict.

Zaman had been working in the UAE for nearly eight years, supporting his family back in Pakistan through labour and driving jobs.
