Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir has described the security and stability of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as inseparable from Pakistan’s own security interests, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The remarks were made during his meeting with Abu Dhabi’s Deputy Ruler and National Security Adviser, Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During the talks, both sides explored avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on economic collaboration, investment, and security.
According to ISPR, the two leaders also discussed the evolving regional situation and underscored the need for sustained coordination to foster peace and stability across the region.
Field Marshal Munir conveyed his gratitude to the UAE government for its long-standing investments and consistent support for Pakistan’s economy and security. He noted that such backing reflects the deep historical ties between the two brotherly nations and appreciated the UAE leadership’s constructive contributions to Pakistan’s economic and social development.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening the partnership, the army chief said joint efforts would continue in all areas to serve the interests of both nations and promote regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
Pakistan and the UAE share close and longstanding relations. Recently, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke by phone with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praising the Gulf state’s steadfast support for Pakistan. Last month, Field Marshal Munir also met Sheikh Mohamed at Qasr Al Shati Palace, where they reviewed bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
